The Maharashtra government has raised fees for VIP vehicle numbers, with '0001' now costing Rs 6 lakh for four-wheelers in high-demand areas. The new fees for out-of-series numbers can reach up to Rs 18 lakh. The revision also allows transfer of VIP numbers to immediate family members and extends reservation periods to six months.
