Russia arrests another defence official on fraud charges

Russia has charged former Deputy Defence Minister Pavel Popov with fraud amid a broad arrest of military officials. Investigators allege Popov embezzled while supervising the construction of Patriot Park near Moscow. This case is part of what appears to be a purge of corrupt military figures. Popov is linked to properties worth 500 million rubles.

Govt gets Rs 5,091 crore dividend from IOC

The government has received a dividend of around Rs 5,091 crore from Indian Oil Corporation, as per the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management. So far, Rs 10,604.74 crore in dividends have been collected from CPSEs for the 2024-25 fiscal year. LIC also contributed a dividend of Rs 3,662.17 crore for FY2023-24.
