Iran’s official judiciary news agency says that authorities have publicly hanged a man who was convicted of murder in the shooting death of a lawyer in central Iran. The Mizan.new agency says the man had been convicted of shooting the lawyer to death in front of his wife and son in Shahroud city in August 2021. The Oslo-based Iran Human Rights group says it was the first public hanging in Iran this year. The group's director, Mahmoud Amiri Moghaddam, has urged the international community to condemn such public executions.
