Gold gains over 1% as Powell comments hint at September rate cut

Gold prices climbed by more than 1% after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hinted at an interest rate cut in September. The rising gold prices were bolstered by a fall in the dollar and Treasury yields. Spot gold was up to $2,512.63 per ounce, and U.S. gold futures stood at $2,546.30.
