Argentina says terrorist cell in Mendoza deactivated

Argentine authorities last week dismantled what was believed to be an "Islamist" terrorist cell planning to attack Jewish community sites in the province of Mendoza and arrested seven suspects in the process, some trying to cross over to Chile and others at the Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires.

BLSA calls for the justice dept to immediately provide all Zondo Commission evidence to NPA

Business organisation Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) has called for the Department of Justice (DoJ) and Minister Ronald Lamola to provide a full and complete access to the database of evidence collected during the Zondo Commission to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). The three-year-long Zondo Commission, held at a cost of almost R1-billion, delved into State capture and recommended many prosecutions more than two years ago. BMW hit-and-run: Mihir Shah files habeas corpus, seeks immediate release

Mihir Shah, the main accused in the BMW hit-and-run case, has moved Bombay High Court claiming he has been illegally detained and has sought immediate release. Shah was arrested on July 9, two days after he allegedly rammed his BMW car into a two-wheeler in Mumbai's Worli area, killing Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and leaving her husband Pradeep injured. Algeria Provides Emergency Fuel Aid to Lebanon

Algeria will start supplying fuel for Lebanon’s power plants immediately, the North African country’s radio said, as quoted by Reuters. The Reuters report noted Lebanon has been suffering electricity shortages since the 1990s but last week Electricite de Liban, the state power utility, said it had run out of fuel supplies.
