In the film Burden, director Kenan Cerimagic contrasts how Bosnia-Herzegovina has dealt with the aftermath of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide and how Rwanda deals with its own legacy of mass killing from 1994. The massacre mostly targeting members of the Tutsi ethnic group is studied by schoolchildren in Rwanda, while Srebrenica is barely touched on in Bosnian schools. The RFE/RL-produced documentary premiered at the Sarajevo film festival on August 18.

Airplane windshield cracked while flying to Larnaca

An Arkia Israeli Airlines flight to Larnaca was forced to return back to Israel after its windshield cracked mid-flight, it emerged on Monday. The incident unfolded on Sunday where one of the layers of the windshield cracked while in Cyprus’ airspace. No passengers were harmed but the flight returned to Israel for landing.
