Rainfall would be more than 106% for the second part of monsoon across India: IMD

India experienced higher than normal rainfall in July 2024, indicating good agricultural activity, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The second part of the monsoon is predicted to be over 106% above normal across India. However, parts of northeast and East India will receive below normal rainfall. Deficient rainfall was recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, adjoining Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and northwest India at 14.3% below normal.
