Scrapping the HS2 northern leg could cost £100m

Rail Magazine - The cancellation of Phase 2 of HS2 to Manchester could cost £100m and take three years to complete. Estimates by HS2 Ltd have emerged in the latest update report on the high speed line from the National Audit Office (NAO). The northern leg of HS2 was scrapped by Rishi Sunak last October.

Aviation skills shortage highlighted as Government announce new 'Reach for the Sky' funding

Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport - The Government has announced the latest funding for outreach programme aimed at young people aged 4 to 18 from under-represented groups to help tackle the skill shortage in the aviation sector. Reach for the Sky is now in its third year and organisations can apply for a share of £750,000 to help deliver sector outreach programmes to attract the next generation of aviation professionals. This new pot of funding will add to the £1.5 million already provided by The Department for Transport (DfT).
