Despite the return of U.S. sanctions on Venezuela, India’s biggest private refiner, Reliance Industries, has obtained a U.S. license to buy crude from the South American country, sources with knowledge of the matter have told Bloomberg. Reliance Industries, as well as ONGC Videsh, the overseas unit of Indian state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), have applied for special licenses to continue importing Venezuelan crude after the Biden Administration ended a six-month sanctions relief on Venezuela’s oil exports. Activist Manoj Jarange suspends indefinite fast over Maratha quota issue

Maratha activist Manoj Jarange on Wednesday suspended his indefinite fast, which he began five days ago over the quota issue, stating that his community members say they want him alive to fight for the cause. He announced the decision while addressing media persons at his native Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna district of Maharashtra. 200,000 people were abused in New Zealand institutions that failed for decades to stop it

Nearly a third of the children and vulnerable adults in state, foster and faith-based care in New Zealand between 1950 and 1999 were physically, sexually, verbally or psychologically harmed. That's according to a just-released report from New Zealand's six-year inquiry into abuse, neglect and exploitation. The 3,000-page report released Wednesday says some 200,000 people were abused.
