House Between Trees / Barbara Berson

Archdaily.com

Upon arriving at the site, it was surprising to find ourselves in front of the presence of three majestic trees located in the central place. At that moment, I imagined that the house should embrace those monumental conifers. They would be responsible for structuring the architecture and endowing it with the "time" factor, through the wrinkles of their bark, their transformations throughout the seasons, and their swaying with the wind.

Personalized interpretable prediction of perceived sleep quality: Models with meaningful cardiovascular and behavioral features

Plos.org

by Max Moebus, Christian Holz

Understanding a person’s perceived quality of sleep is an important problem, but hard due to its poor definition and high intra- as well as inter-individual variation. In the short term, sleep quality has an established impact on cognitive function during the following day as well as on fatigue. In the long term, good quality sleep is essential for mental and physical health and contributes to quality of life. Understanding the impact of the digital divide on the health of IEMs can provide effective solutions to meet the health... Читать дальше...

The effects of five weeks of climbing training, on and off the wall, on climbing specific strength, performance, and training experience in female climbers—A randomized controlled trial

Plos.org

by Kaja Langer, Vidar Andersen, Nicolay Stien

Recent research has elucidated the effects of strength training on climbing performance. Although local muscular endurance training of the upper-limbs and finger flexors is frequently suggested, there is currently insufficient evidence to support its impact on climbing performance and climbing-specific strength. Furthermore, there is no evidence on climbers’ experiences related to training and the likelihood of consistent engagement. In addition... Читать дальше...
