Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi minister Atishi Marlena has accused the Haryana government of a conspiracy to stop the Yamuna river's water supply ahead of the May 25 Lok Sabha elections. Marlena warned the Delhi government not to fall into the BJP's trap and warned that if the Haryana government does not take action, they may approach the Supreme Court.

Nathan Vasquez was leading incumbent District Attorney Mike Schmidt in early returns Tuesday night. The outgoing MP in the Lok Sabha from Kurukshetra is Nayab Singh Saini who had replaced M L Khattar as the Haryana chief minister in March and is now contesting the Karnal assembly bypolls on May 25, the day when voting for all the 10 Lok Sabha seats will be held. Jindal switched from Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March. While in Congress, he represented Kurukshetra between 2004-2014. His late father and noted industrialist O P Jindal has also represented Kurukshetra earlier.

Retired Calcutta High Court judge Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash clarified his controversial remarks about his association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh during his retirement speech. He said that it was a spontaneous statement reflecting his roots and denied any bias in his judgements. He said that he treated all individuals equally during his 14-year tenure as a judge.
