Net foreign direct investments in Armenia’s real sector slashed to about 44.4 billion drams

YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. Net foreign direct investments (FDI) in Armenia’s real sector of  economy in January-September 2016 slashed to about 44.4 billion drams from 80.2 billion drams, reported for the same time span of  2015, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).

At the same time, net total flows of foreign investments in the reporting period amounted to 26.9 billion drams  against 96 billion drams, reported for the first nine months of last year. An outflow of capital was recorded for Armenia in the first half of 2016 with 16.9 billion drams worth negative net flow of total foreign investments.

According to the National Statistical Service, the largest investor was Cyprus with 34.8 billion drams, followed by the United Kingdom - 32.2 billion drams. At the same time, the largest outflow of Armenia's foreign direct investment (negative value) went to  Russia - 55.3 billion drams and Lebanon - 12.7 billion drams..

According to the NSS, net flows represent the difference of receipts and repayment of foreign investments in the reporting period. ($ 1 - 480.11 drams). -0-
