Rangers put Josh Hamilton on unconditional release waivers

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Texas Rangers placed Josh Hamilton on unconditional release waivers Tuesday, though they hope his surgically rebuilt left knee is healthy enough to allow him to try for a spot with the team next season.
