37-degree frost to hit Kazakhstan

0
Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet meteorologists have released the weather forecast for February 21–23.
A powerful cyclone and atmospheric fronts will bring precipitation of varying intensity across most of Kazakhstan. Snow will fall in the northern and eastern regions, with occasional heavy snow, while southern regions are expected to see mostly rain. Strong winds with blizzards, ice, and foggy conditions are also forecast.
Sharp temperature drop
Following the cyclone, an anticyclone from the European part of Russia will move into the western regions of Kazakhstan, causing precipitation to stop and temperatures to drop:

Nighttime temperatures in the western regions will range from -10°C to -22°C.
In the northern regions, temperatures will drop to -17°C to -25°C.
In the southern regions, temperatures will fall to -0°C to -8°C.

"From February 23 in the northwest, and from February 24 in the north, east, and central regions of the country, a sharp temperature drop is expected, with temperatures ranging from -25°C to -37°C," meteorologists added.

February surprises
Earlier, meteorologists mentioned that February in Kazakhstan would be warmer than usual, with moderate precipitation. Across most of the country, average temperatures are expected to be 1-2 degrees above the climate norm. However, the temperature will remain near normal in the southeastern part of the republic.
