South Korea to start hiring Kazakhstanis

Tengrinews.kz – Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Svetlana Zhakupova told when Kazakhstanis will be able to legally travel to work in South Korea.
According to her, in October, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan held talks with the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea.

"There was simply a change in the leadership of the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea and the process of agreeing on our agreement was a little delayed. It has been developed and has already been sent for discussion and agreement to South Korea," Zhakupova said on the sidelines of the Mazhilis.

As the minister noted, the adoption of the agreement can be expected before the end of this year.
"And then will Kazakhstanis be able to travel there to work?" journalists asked.
"Absolutely," the Minister of Labor answered.
Legal earnings for Kazakhstanis in South Korea
It should be noted that earnings in South Korea have remained attractive for Kazakhstanis for several years now. In February 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that there were about 7-8 thousand of our compatriots working illegally in this country.
Earlier, Minister Zhakupova addressed the issue of Kazakhstani citizens living and working illegally in South Korea.
