Israel prepares for potential ground invasion of Lebanon: US Officials

International media, citing U.S. officials, have reported that Israel is possibly preparing for a ground invasion of Lebanon as it moves its forces to the northern borders of the country.

CNN, after confirming the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, reported that Israel has transferred its forces to its northern borders.

The media, quoting two unnamed U.S. officials, stated, “U.S. assessments indicate Israel’s mobilization of forces for a potential ground invasion of Lebanon.”

Israeli officials had previously mentioned that a ground attack on Lebanon was being considered as a possible option during ongoing clashes with Hezbollah.

With the death of senior Hezbollah commanders, including the group’s leader, the Israeli military may now have greater flexibility in carrying out this plan.

The escalation of tensions between Israel and Hezbollah raises concerns about a broader regional conflict. Any ground invasion could have significant repercussions, impacting not only Lebanon but the entire Middle East.
